Nagpur recently hosted the 16th Annual National Institute of Dental Assistants Conference (NIDACON), organized by the Government Dental College and Hospital and the Nagpur Branch of the Indian Dental Association (IDA). Dr. Vivek Gaur, a renowned oral dental surgeon and implantologist, highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dentistry. While AI has enhanced accuracy in diagnoses and treatment planning, Dr. Gaur emphasized that the final decision remains in the hands of dentists. The conference also introduced corticobasal implants as a groundbreaking solution for patients with severe bone loss, eliminating the need for invasive bone grafting. Periodontist Dr. Rashmi Hegde showcased the advancements in laser dentistry, which have made treatments like root canals painless and more efficient. The event featured 12 national-level lectures, research presentations, and innovative demonstrations, further enriching the knowledge of aspiring dentists.
